Technical/SEC Accountant Job in Sunnyvale 94089, California US
Specific job responsibilities include:
• Manage the interim and annual SEC reporting process. This includes the preparation of Forms 10-Q and 10-K, and the proxy statement, as well as the maintenance of support documentation.
• Participate in the preparation of other SEC filings such as Form 8-K, as required.
• Monitor and enhance internal controls for external reporting process, including the review of the Company’s process narratives and policies.
• Manage the preparation of the Company’s stock-based compensation expense, EPS calculation, and statements of cash flows.
• Partner with Investor Relations to prepare analyst presentations and other materials, as required, to ensure consistently with SEC filings.
1. Participate in the review of the quarterly earnings release materials.
2. Analyze new and proposed accounting standards issued by the SEC and the FASB to determine disclosure requirements
• As necessary, assist in or lead special projects, including system implementations, acquisition integration, technical accounting research, and business reengineering projects.
• Liaison with global teams and external auditors to support local statutory reporting, as necessary, including the adoption of new accounting policies.
Qualifications and education:
1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
2. 5 - 7 years of Big 4 experience and/or similar experience with a large public company.
3. High-tech industry experience preferred, but not required
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
4. Strong grasp of internal control practices (COSO, PCAOB) and accounting principles.
5. Understanding of applications such as Oracle, Essbase, Hyperion, WebFilings, and Equity Edge a plus.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manages competing priorities, and adheres to tight deadlines.
