Technician Supervisor Job in West Chester 45069, Ohio US

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor directs the technician staff to perform daily pharmacy dispensing procedures under the direct supervision of pharmacists in such a manner as to achieve management’s goals of superior quality service. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor monitors work flow and production quotas in order to effect desired outcomes while maintaining compliance with all Federal and State rules and regulations, as well as Omnicare policies and procedures. In addition, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor coordinates all technician functions throughout the pharmacy.     

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

¨  Schedule and post schedules of all technicians to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.

¨  Monitor attendance, tardiness, sick and vacation time, and all absences for compliance with company policy, and verify time sheets weekly for validity.

¨  Advise Pharmacy Manager of all pertinent events and exceptions within assigned departments.

¨  Institute, in conjunction with the Pharmacy Manager, performance improvement plans for poor work performance.

¨  Monitor technicians for accuracy, and supervise staff in the proper preparation of medications to be dispensed by the pharmacist.

¨  Maintain strict adherence to all safety and infection control policies and ensure that work areas are kept clean and clutter-free.

¨  Chair senior technician meetings to ensure that departmental goals, educational needs, and collegial and supportive inter-departmental relations are achieved.

¨  Assist the Director of Operations and/or the Pharmacy Manager in achieving the desired goals and targets for the pharmacy.

¨  Access only the minimum amount of patient protected health information needed to perform your JOB/ROLE well.

¨  Workflow grid is cleared daily

¨  Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

¨  Knowledge/skills

o   High School diploma or equivalent

o   Knowledge of various pharmacy dispensing systems and equipment

o   Infusion technician experience, preferred

o   Ability and willingness to successfully complete a pharmacy technician certification program with one (1) year of practical experience

o   Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

 

¨  Preferred Experience

o   Minimum of five (5) years of technician experience in the long-term care pharmacy experience

o   Minimum of one (1) year supervising experience in a long-term care pharmacy
