Technologist - Desktop Mobility
GTSI has an immediate opening for a Technologist – Desktop Mobility. The key objective of this position is to set the direction, evaluate and promote key technologies and solutions for GTSI aligned with Desktop and device mobility. This position will support GTSI’s customers and operating groups in adopting, implementing and operating mobility systems and emerging technologies. In addition, this position will increase awareness and enhance the brand of GTSI as a technical leader in technology, solutions and services. Although individually accountable for driving technology adoption and awareness, the Technologist will make use of other corporate resources such as marketing, partner management, service organization and the wider technical, as well as external resources such as OEM, Services and Small Business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support GTSI’s customers and operating groups in adopting, implementing and operating profitable technology solutions centered on Desktop and device mobility and complimentary services associated with this technology focus.
- Work in close collaboration with cross-functional groups such as marketing, partner management, service organization and the wider technical and external resources to help protect and grow the core solutions and build complementary solutions through vision, mission, technical expertise, research, market know-how, and customer and partner relationships.
- Position GTSI as a trusted advisor and innovative technology leader for the markets we serve. Cross-pollinate and enhance the technical skills across the organization by assisting with quality collateral, trainings, standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Help create new opportunities for GTSI by applying technical expertise to key strategic programs, proposals and partner programs.
- Identify and evaluate key technologies centered on mobility technologies such as desktop virtualization, mobile device management, solutions and services and promote their adoption with customers, and awareness with business development and engineering staff.
- Provide content for sales collateral to position and sell identified key technologies, solutions and services.
- Participate in technical forums within and outside GTSI and collaborate with these technical organizations to produce white papers, technology comparisons and evaluations.
- Participate in customer presentations and verbal / written communications with customers and teaming partners.
- Develop technology migration roadmaps for featured solutions and present to targeted key customers.
- Engage in design and engineering of key technologies, solutions and services in support of business development and technical requirements.
- Provide key solution support for proposals, strategic programs and opportunity qualification and pre-RFP preparation through development of technical and reference architectures and providing content and insight into responses. Maintain continued focus on training, advanced certifications and OEM certifications around data center consolidation as well as emerging solution areas with this focus.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems) or equivalent experience in related field
- 7- 10 years of related and progressive experience
- Preferred certifications: VMWare VCP4 Desktop, Citrix CCEE or CCIA, Symantec Endpoint Mgmt/data protection expertise
- Ability to evaluate technologies, solutions and services
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to design and engineer advanced technology systems
- Strong interpersonal relations skills, good personal presentation, must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and have excellent work ethics
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Must have high-energy work ethic and be available to work non-standard hours during peak season times
