Technology Disaster Recovery Analyst recruitment

Position Description:

As a member of the Global Technology Disaster Recovery (TechDR) team the successful candidate will be responsible for the deployment and advancement of the firms BC/DR strategies.

The Disaster Recovery Analyst reports to the regional Technology DR Manager with additional global reporting lines based on infrastructure or BU/Technology silo coverage alignment.

Specific responsibilities:
- Perform a leading role in the coordination of BC/DR testing events, working in conjunction with infrastructure and application teams. These internal and external events involve as many as 20 external partners or infrastructure/application teams. Tests are generally conducted during weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday). Some Travel may be required.
- Kick-off and maintain communications to a large audience of Technologists for planning and organizing of DR events.
- Facilitate the communication of Business Unit requirements for IT applications to key contacts within the technology community.
- Review the DR plans to ensure that the deployment of future infrastructure adheres to the best practice principles of Business Continuity /Disaster Recovery.
- Review the Region's business continuity plans for Technology, to ensure that they are sound, while validating that the documentation meets regulatory and internal/external audit requirements.
- Plan and coordinate tests for the business continuity strategies of Technology teams.
- Assist in Work Area Recovery operations, for internal and external sites.
- Project Management and coordination including the regional aspects of major Global Technology DR projects.

Skills Required:

The preferred candidate will have a strong technical background including prior experience in a technical area, working closely with infrastructure departments. However, they must be balanced with solid people and communications skills.

- Experience in working with Wintel, Unix and Linux environments and exposure to Telco principles.
- Proven background in IT, with extensive experience gained in a large organization with complex systems, operating across a regional or global geography.
- Experience in data centre DR tests, BC Simulation and Work Area recovery (WAR) scenarios.
- Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written) are required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, etc.).
- Strong relationship skills and the ability to be a team player with good tact and diplomacy.
- The ideal candidate would also be self-motivated, very process oriented and able to multitask.
- Experience of working in Virtual teams.

Skills Desired:

- Large scale event planning for DR and BC testing is desired but not essential.
- Financial Industry experience strongly recommended
- Proven IT co-ordination or IT project planning experience.
- Business Continuity accreditation would be a plus.
- ITIL accreditation would be a plus
