Leading investment management firm requires a highly numerate technology graduate to join their development team in central London. The ideal candidate will have a MSC / PHD in computing, mathematics, etc.. and a desire to pursue a career in software development.
You will join a highly technical / business facing team building the next generation of pricing, risk management systems and financial trading applications. Delivering resilient, high performance trading solutions to a rapidly changing marketplace. Ongoing training and coaching within your team will improve your development skills across the project life cycle.
Technical Skills/Experience:
- Ability to demonstrate creative problem solving skills
- Any programming experience or Scripting languages: e.g. C#, C++, Java, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc..
- Knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of fundamental computer architecture and operating system concepts.
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux
- Good appreciation of object-orientated programming concepts
- Beneficial to have experience designing software solutions
- Ability to test newly developed software to ensure quality is maintained
- Ability to write and execute effective manual tests including exploratory, negative and black-box.
- Use a variety of tools and BDD/TDD techniques to define and automate Acceptance Tests
- Using knowledge of computer architecture, databases and networking, you will find potential issues in performance, configuration and deployment of newly developed software.
