Position Description:
The Technology, Intellectual Property E-Commerce Law Group at Morgan Stanley is responsible for providing support in these functional areas, as well as Privacy and Data Protection, across the Morgan Stanley enterprise globally. The team are currently seeking a technology, intellectual property and e-commerce lawyer to be based in London.
Skills Required:
• Qualified lawyer with solid experience at a law firm or major in-house legal department in technology, intellectual property and e-commerce matters.
• Full range of technology related transactions, e.g., licensing, development, web services, data licenses, telecommunications and hardware acquisitions, etc.
• Outsourcing transactions, technology and business process outsourcing.
• Electronic trading arrangements.
• Understanding of the range of legal issues implicated in doing business on-line.
• Thorough knowledge of intellectual property laws.
• Understanding of European Data Protection laws and related laws, specifically as relevant to financial services industry.
• Experience representing financial services firms would be a plus.
Must also have:
• Excellent drafting skills.
• Ability to function effectively in a matrixed environment.
• Ability to respond to the needs of a demanding client base.
