Job Description: This engineering support position will perform work withinthe Space and Airborne Systems Electro Optical Algorithms and Analysis Department of the Systems Development Center. The employee will participate as a member of a multi-discipline engineering designteam supporting military programs. They will have the opportunity to become familiar with and use the related engineering tools and processes. Some of the activities may include * computer modeling and simulation of active and passive sensor physics and phenomenology * performance predictions and analysis * analysis of data received from active and passive sensors on various types of airborne platforms * technical presentations Required Skills: * Knowledge of computer programming languages: C/C++, JAVA, MATLAB * Knowledge of fundamental physics, mathematical topics, and algorithmic fundamentals Desired Skills: * Experience with passive or active electro-optical technologies * The ability to work well in teams * Self motivated and highly ambitious * Ability to work with minimal supervision * Demonstrated interpersonal communication and presentation skills; verbal and written Required Education (including Major): The candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program working towards a Bachelor'sDegree inEngineeringor Physics prior to the startof the internship in the summer of 2012 and continuing in the fall of 2012, including attainment of the status of "sophomore" by the fall of 2012.
