The West Virginia University Department of Information Technology Services at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center is accepting applications for a full-time Professional Technologist 2. This position in the Support Services division of Information Technology Services, will support the technological needs of the WVU Health Sciences Center Faculty, Staff and Students. The successful candidate should have at least two years of experience in at least one of the following areas, and one year of experience in at least three additional areas: design and use of tele-health/telemedicine equipment in educational and clinical environments; technical support for technology classrooms, and tele-health/telemedicine clinical and educational sites and their uses at the Hospital and University level; designing and using technology classrooms and overseeing the installation of such classrooms in a higher education setting; installing and configuring VOIP phones; installation and troubleshooting of data network wiring; basic troubleshooting, installation, and use of personal computers; the use, design, configuration and troubleshooting of multipoint video conferencing devices in educational and clinical environments; working with instructional technologies at a College/University level. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in groups of people of different backgrounds and abilities, and be able to follow projects through to completion with minimal supervision. A Bachelor s Degree is required with specific training or experience in the support and design of multimedia delivery systems, electronic technology, or a related area. Substantial on-the-job training in specific areas of classroom multimedia or multipoint video conferencing systems, telemedicine, tele health, remote learning, and technical support may be acceptable in lieu of a formal degree.
