Telecom Engineer

Architect, implement, maintain, and manage Avaya PBX system platform (S8700 and G350/450 systems) Manage call center changes, such as Agents, VDN, and Vectoring Manage call center supporting applications, such as CMS, AES server, call recording, and implement Avaya VoIP infrastructure for remote offices and billing offices. Administer and Engineer Unified Messaging Voice Mail Platforms and Microsoft Office Communication integration.

Responsible for planning and implementing physical and logical communications networks that impact a distributed model. Working with IT associates, end users and vendors to analyze business requirements, provide technical solutions and financial justifications for voice telephony applications.

Work with diagnostic tools and IT associates to develop and deliver metrics reports to measure and analyze systems and network performance and provide weekly metrics on network performance. Utilize developed metrics to provide capacity planning and network optimization.

Accountable for advanced problem determination and resolution of networking connectivity issues. Utilizing diagnostic tool and work with other IT associates to provide advanced analysis efficiently and effectively analyze root cause service issues, take corrective action and document any design/procedure modifications.

Works with business units and IS associates in researching, recommending testing cost effective, efficient, reliable, scalable network products and/or services that address stated IS and business objectives.

Provide project management support for approved capital projects. Working with Project Owners to manage projects to defined timeline and within published budgets, while tracking project with project management tools to meet defined business requirements.

Working with Call Center Management, responsibilities include implementation and design of: Call Center applications, such as, ACD, IVR, CTI, WFM, and CAS, Monitoring systems and applications, for optimized call center operations.

Support Disaster Recovery initiatives, working with IT and business owners to develop and design disaster plans to support Recovery objectives of business units and IT during disasters at call centers or data centers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Learning Experience
Required: College Degree, with an IT or Telecom focus
Desired: College Degree in Computer Science Degree
Work Experience
Required: 8+ yrs experience in design and engineering of communications systems and networks
Required: Proven engineering / design knowledge of Nortel and/or Avaya Products and voice switched IP network. Must have working knowledge of vendor platforms.
Required: (One or both platforms)Engineering Certification on Nortel and Avaya Products
Desired: 10+ Yrs Experience within a Telecommunications Engineering Environment
Telecommunications Skills/Knowledge
Desired: Engineering skills and design knowledge in a multi-vendor environment of Voice IP Networks
Licenses/Certifications
Desired: Engineering Certification on multi-vendor Product environment
