Telecommunications Manager

Presigious global corporation in Arlington(Rosslyn) has an immediate need for a Telecommunications Manager  with a strong Cisco VOIP background.  This is highly visible hands on position.

The Telecom Manager is the senior telephony position within the firm’s global Information
Technology Department having broad responsibilities over the design, implementation,
management and day-to-day support of all voice and video technologies, existing and future with
the oversight of the Enterprise Network Architect. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of data
and voice solutions management as well as equivalent hands-on experience, providing highly
professional and responsive customer service to all Company users across a variety of messaging
platforms, including wired voice, video, data, fax, and unified messaging. The Telecom Manager
must effectively maintain many vendor relationships required for the on-going support and
implementation of the firm’s global voice, video and data networks in an efficient and cost
effective manner. This role will also assist in the strategic planning, product evaluations and
making recommendations for Company’s future data, VoIP and video long term goals. This position
will provide hands-on engineering as needed as well as possessing excellent communication
skills.

BA/BS degree required and:

6 - 8 years of voice and data network support experience in a
professional office environment with an emphasis on Cisco
products and services.
5 years of Cisco telephony experience managing supporting
medium to large financial organizations (1000 + employees);
 Experience deploying managing high availability CUCM
(8.x)/Unity environments, SRST, voice gateways, dial plans
Must possess a strong understanding of VoIP protocols H323,
MGCP QSIQ
 Must possess a keen understanding of a network infrastructure
familiarity with congestion avoidance techniques to ensure
high voice quality
 Strong telephony network troubleshooting skills that are
balanced with interpersonal capabilities
Four to six years of proven VoIP experience with Cisco solutions
to include implementations, management and successful PBX to
VoIP transitions.
 Strong analytical and hands-on problem-solving skills.
 Knowledge of international telecommunications service offerings,
market conditions, and vendors.
Knowledge of audio video conferencing equipment
