Telecommunications Programme Director required for a permanent opportunity based in London.

As the Telecoms Programme Manager you will provide comprehensive technology support to the various business units. The level of support varies by line of business from advising on technology roadmaps through to complete management of all systems and products development. Three specific areas of focus are: Supporting BAU delivery functions to varying degrees; Initiating and, in some cases, managing strategic system programmes; and developing and leading transformation programmes.
Examples of typical projects that this role will support are: development of a complete OSS stack replacement for Directories (business benefits, vendor selection, project planning, etc) at a cost £4M; Conferencing IT transformation programme, including organisational design and introduction of outsourcing model; management and delivery of all IT deliveries for my clients product business; Evaluation of the 130+ systems in the non-BTID supported system estate supporting Ireland and developing and delivering against a migration plan to move them into the BTID platform
Working Engagement with the Enterprise business units is consistently at the CEO and CIO level. The role will form part of the leadership team for the MD's of Enterprises, Ireland and RSD. Must lead a mixed team of 15 - 20 Head of BI and BI Consultants and a broader virtual global delivery team.
Skills and experience required:
This role requires strong leadership abilities particularly in highly matrixed development and operations environments. The Enterprises and Ireland units largely have siloed IT support functions therefore strong skills and experience are required in consulting on IT organisational design efficiencies. Also important is familiarity in the introduction of on-shore/off-shore resourcing models to support cost transformation or organisation scaling.
Strong familiarity with OSS/BSS system design, implementation and roadmap development is also essential. Many of the projects in the Enterprises and Ireland will entail significant data migration through system rationalisation, so experience leading teams which have successfully implemented similar programmes is a key experience.

Successful Management responsibilities and good people skills are also required.
