Telecommunications Technician Job in Richmond, Virginia Us
Voice and Data Telecommunications Technician. This position can be as a subcontractor (1099), or a direct hire part time employee. Looking for a technician to cover major cities within a four hour drive. Travel involves use of your own vehicle, mileage reimbursed. This position is paid portal to portal at a compensatory hourly rate.
Experience testing and installing DSO, DS1 and DS3’s is required. Must have basic telecommunications tools to include: butt set, toner, RJ11/RJ45 crimper, basic cable tester.
Candidate must be able to pass security background investigation and drug test. Must be able to lift 35 lbs and work using a ladder if required.
Techician will be on-call 24-7 support of OEM of fiber optic equipment. Usually scheduled during 9:00 PM to 05:00 AM with bonus for hours worked this shift. On line computer based training provided for supported fiber products.
Other responsibilities include installing T1 circuits, extending circuits from the dmarc to clients equipment then terminating. Installation of routers, switches, and CSU’s.
