Telecommunications/Electronics Technician
McCarthy French is a leader in providing telecommunication infrastructure construction, installations, commissioning and maintenance within Tasmania. We provide services to all Telco’s within Tasmania and work throughout the state. We currently have a requirement for a Telecommunications/Electronics Technician.
The work carried out is varied and interesting and includes:
· Installation and commissioning of microwave link radios- Harris MSR, Ceragon and Nokia,
· Installation and commissioning of BTS equipment - Huawei, Nokia BTS Kit and E/// RBS Technology,
· Installation and commissioning of DC power structures, and voice data cabling
· Repair/fault finding of the above
· Working in conjunction with civil and rigging construction crews
Required Attributes:
· A self starting attitude and the ability to work unsupervised and in remote locations
· Good working knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure
· Good verbal communication skills
· Willingness to travel and overnight throughout Tasmania
· Autonomous fault finding/rectification ability
· Current Drivers license
Desirable Attributes:
· Microwave Installation/commissioning/maintenance capabilities (Ideally Harris MSR, Ceragon and Nokia)
· Previous BTS Installation and Integration capabilities (Ideally Huawei, Nokia BTS Kit and E/// RBS Technology)
· Ability to work at heights
· Communication/Electronics Trade Certification/Diploma/Degree
