Temenos T24 Analyst / Developer recruitment

Our client a prestigious name in International financial circles requires an experienced Temenos technical application development and support professional to support T24 our clients main core banking system who can demonstrate a minimum of three years experience obtained within a professional financial environment to join their team here in Guernsey, to support and develop mission critical financial services applications.

Applicants will demonstrate skills specific to T24 and be fully competent n all aspects of T24 development work e.g. programming, versions, enquiries, and possess good knowledge of jBASE operating platform layer and have a good understanding of debugging and support principles of T24 with technical problem-solving capability and an understanding of background services in T24 e.g. TSAs and phantoms, and main operational processes e.g. SOD and COBs etc.

Responsibilities:

Support:

The most critical part of this role is to maintain the availability and technical integrity of our clients critical live systems, in particular Temenos T24.

~ Analysing and diagnosing technical problems in T24, both in the live environment and in any Test environments.
~ Liaise with Temenos to obtain problem resolution and obtain fixes.
~ Receipt of software fixes from Temenos, and install and test prior to implementation
~ Respond to live user issues both in Guernsey and in the client's Caribbean office
~ Handling systems upgrade issues when new releases are introduced
~ Being on call out of hours for urgent system problems e.g. when the client's Caribbean office are working but Guernsey are not, and for night-time Close of Business (COB) and early morning Start of Day (SOD) problems.

Development:

Providing software development capability in all areas in and around T24, in particular:

~ Database administration, design and extension
~ Application development
~ Enquiries, reports and interfaces

Applicants' development capability will extend to various stages of the lifecycle, including analysis, development, unit testing, and support for User Acceptance Testing. Technical capabilities required in support of these activities include jBasic, JCL, AIX, MQSeries, XML, Jed and OFS.

An important part of the role is knowledge sharing and training, to help improve skill levels in the IT Department. This may take a variety of forms. As a minimum it will involve documenting solutions, good practice, hints and tips etc. It may also involve explaining things verbally to other team members, and on occasion offering more formal training classes on specific topics.

Applicants must have the ability to feed back to technical management concise and accurate summaries of very complex technical issues and must be capable of thinking coherently and working quickly and accurately whilst under pressure and to deadline.
