We currently have an opening for TEMP OBT Project Manager in our Chicago Office.

Role purpose:

Project Management is used transform the business through change, by using the management of workstreams and projects which collectively are closely aligned to achieve benefits as defined by the business

The Project Manager will take total accountability for planning, structuring, leading and executing global projects of high risk and complexity. Ensuring that the alignment of the three organisational elements Corporate Strategy, Delivery of the mechanisms for change and a Business as usual environment is maintained.  Responsible for managing the project team consisting of  workstream management support staff.

The role will:

Provide the framework that will integrate and reconcile the competing demands for resources

·         Recognise the effect of the project transformation changes has on the culture, style and character of the Organisation and accommodate for this to ensure success

·         Define, lead and manage high profile, critical and challenging strategic projects across AGCS.

·         Work in collaboration with the Business Lead for the projects to secure effective business engagement in taking forward the agenda and agree benefits.

·         Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the portfolio are to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the projects plan.

·         Be responsible for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the projects.

·         Be responsible to deliver processes and/or process automation in scope, in time and within customer expectations

·         Manage third party contributions to the projects as appropriate.

·         Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects within the project.

·         Manage the risks to the projects successful outcome.

Key Responsibilities Duties:

1. Program Scope Management:

Be responsible for overall Program Scope Management, whilst the individual project teams will manage the respective scope of an individual project you will be wholly responsible for the adherence to the overall plan, SOW and other associated documentation.

Have an up-to-date working knowledge of the program and its capability, to be a focal point for the facilitation of reference and information.

2. Stakeholder Management (Account Management):

Ensure early engagement with Stakeholders and manage this engagement throughout the project, keeping them informed of progress and issues throughout the project. Ensuring their continued cooperation towards successful completion of the project and benefits realisation. Develop and positively influence key, strategic position holders across locations and functions. Willingness to support project delivery colleagues where interdependencies demand collaborative action and team work

 

3. Project Management Integration:

Actively performance manage the project to ensure initiatives and supporting workstreams together with enabling projects are delivered and to escalate appropriately the situation if progress is delayed. 

Maintain your knowledge in all areas of the program/projects includes processes that are required to ensure all components are coordinated. This knowledge area may include the project plan development processes, project plan execution processes, and integrated change control processes. Use a high quality of PM methodology and constantly drive more methodology improvements in alignment with the PMLC.

Responsible for the management and analysis of issues. Manage the projects budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the project progresses.

Identify, analyse and interpret relevant global and local activity data in order to define, challenge and secure best practice underpins the project. In addition using the information to set standards and use for decision-making for specific projects.

Manage third party contributions to the project as appropriate. Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects within the project. Manage the risks to ensure the projects successful outcome

4. Communication Project Reporting:

Ensure provision of timely and transparent program / project information to provide the Program Sponsor, the Board and GPSG, project sponsors and other stakeholders with accurate, relevant decision support material. Providing accurate progress reports, identifying risks and issues in a timely manner so that the PAG and GPSG can avoid business risks and make critical GCP level decisions.

 

5. Project Governance and Control:

Be responsible for directing and leading initiatives and supporting workstreams that will support the delivery of this project ensure adherence to Portfolio Governance and control.

Proactively ensure adherence to PMLC and SDLC processes.

 

6. Risk Management:

Identify and prioritize risks before they occur in order to minimise the negative impact to the program. Use PM methodologies to best assess the risks and issues that may threaten the successful delivery of your program.

 

7. People Management:

Build, manage and motivate the project team, this will be virtual teams across multiple projects and countries which will include Workstream leads, Project Support staff and team members from other departments within COO.

Job Requirements:

1. Minimum five years’ experience in Project Management using leading methodologies and processes. MSP Practitioner accredited with Prince 2 practitioner accreditation beneficial, OPEX or equivalent.

Insurance Reinsurance industry experience essential.

 

2. Significant experience in implementation of large programs requiring successful process design, technology integration and change management capabilities across multiple technology platforms and countries.

 

3. Experience of managing multiple stakeholders including Senior Program Managers, Board Members, Senior Managers and third party vendors on high profile and technologically innovative enterprise solutions.

4. Proven experience in other relevant Program Manager competencies which include the following

·         Budgetary control and resource allocation

·         Time Management

·         Cost / Effort Management

Procurement Management

5. Self-motivated and proactive with consistent high levels of energy and drive and an overriding ability to energize their team. High level of emotional intelligence to be able to identify, assess and control the emotions of oneself, of others and of groups with an ability to create a sense of community amongst any disparate members of the project teams

6. Ability to interact with both “worlds”: Business and IT

 

7. Lead, manage and coach your assigned project team to deliver high quality services across  AGCS with a focus on Customer experience and positive perception.

 

8. Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.  Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story. Ability to engage diverse stakeholders with conflicting priorities and build consensus and experience of presenting and negotiating with board members, senior managers and business stakeholders.

 

9. Experience of working internationally and of remotely managing and developing global teams across numerous locations

10. Fluent in English. German and other language skills an advantage

11. Flexible to travel to AGCS Global offices when and as required
