Job Description:
As part of the Basket Calculation Service Team, the Index Analyst is responsible for the daily calculations. They have the responsibility for ensuring that highest quality is maintained and a high level of service is required for the BCS client base, and this is achieved through professionalism of the highest standard.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

- Rebalancing and Corporate Action Maintenance - Using all available data sources, proactively source corporate action / event activity, and analyze the impact to the indices. A large part of this responsibility is the approval of corporate actions to be applied to indexes, as well as approval of the resulting changes to index constituents and holdings.
- Calculation Processing - Completion of daily production procedures including the creating, loading and processing of the intraday index values while operating within strict deadlines.
- Ensuring Quality Assurance - Perform routine quality assurance procedures, which include checking prices and monitoring market activity and how it relates to the index calculations.
- ETF Related Responsibilities - Assist the BCS team with the exchange traded funds (ETFs) daily processing and research efforts.
- Product Enhancements - Consistently review procedures and processes to identify enhancements and efficiencies that could be created through additional tools and development enhancements.
- Review index rulebook/methodology requirements and provide business specifications for implementing the indices within the test system.
- Client Support – Includes addressing client queries and monitoring of intraday indices and timely resolution of issues.
Qualifications:
- Looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who excels at meeting strict deadlines and must also be comfortable working with clients
- Strong financial knowledge in areas such as corporate actions and dividends.
- Strong Excel skills are essential.
- Clear communication skills – written and oral
- Meticulous attention to detail is critical
- An understanding of the construction and calculation of financial indices.
- Working knowledge of global financial markets with a focus on indices and exchange traded funds
- At least two years equity research and analysis experience within fund management environment desirable,
- A bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record is required.
