TEMPORARY ASSEMBLY/TEST TECHNICIAN Job in Riverside, California US
Urgent Need / Experience Required
The successful candidate will participate with our team of technicians and engineers, who are changing the electric machine industry with our high speed and power permanent magnet machines. Our power ranges are 50kw to 30MW. Some of our designs in our IP portfolio run on active magnetic bearings. In this position, the Assembly/Test Technician will report directly to our lead technician or manager as assigned from time to time.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide assembly and test support during the development and production phases of various projects
- Assist in inventory storage and retrieval
- Support the various DDS engineers to build RD test set ups, breadboards, brassboards, and prototypes
- Install electrical control and instrumentation equipment and wiring
- Install various cooling and lubrication systems in test set ups
- Troubleshoot and maintain facility mechanical and electrical equipment (air compressors, blowers, pumps lube systems, etc)
- Help maintain a professional and organized assembly and test facility
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in large machine assembly, especially rotating machinery/ turbomachinery. Good experience with hand tools and small machine tools is a must.
- Capable of installing a wide variety of electrical equipment, ranging from test equipment (pressure sensors, flow meters) to light electrical wiring (110v, 208v, 480v)
- Capable of plumbing, ducting work for large machines
- Capable of using various type of test equipment such as multi meters, current meters, and standard shop equipment.
- Must have good electrical (and/or mechanical) troubleshooting skills..
- Should be able to read schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Work with others assisting in building mechanical assemblies.
- Applicant should know shop practices and basic knowledge of shop safety.
- Applicant should have basic computer knowledge and understanding of MS word and Excel
- Should be a strong team player
- Strong multi-tasking skills are a plus
