Temporary Associate Analyst, Prague recruitment

The Department / Team:

Sub-Sovereign research services is used by the Company’s clients to help assess credit risk in these markets. Sub-Sovereign research also includes key statistical data and peer group analysis. The group’s approach allows market participants to benefit from a globally consistent and transparent methodological approach to assessing credit risk.

The Role / Responsibilities:

To assist more senior staff in the analysis of a portfolio of regional/local governments, and government-related issuers in Central and Eastern Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

*  Assist lead analyst in preparing rating committee memos.

*  Prepare spreadsheets, gather data, create charts for rating committee presentation.

*  Use Moody’s models, scorecards and specific tools to monitor quantitative and qualitative portfolio data ensuring quality, consistency and accuracy.

*  Monitor economic trends and developments, analyze government financial statements, monitor financial market activities.

*  Monitor portfolio in response to requests from lead analysts.

*  Track news wires daily and flag relevant items/developments regarding portfolio issuers or industries.

*  Perform administrative tasks and helps the senior staff in the communication with the issuers. Prepare minutes following issuer meetings.

*  Demonstrate sound accounting knowledge and engage the lead analyst in relevant discussion.

*  Organize work to meet internal and external deadlines.

Qualifications:

*  Academic Background: graduate degree or equivalent in Economics, International Relations or Finance; International Business and/or Public Administration are also acceptable.

*  Czech and Slovakian (Mother tongue) are essential. English (fluent).

*  Some minimal working experience or proven interest in public finance issues.

*  Some prior experience or keen interest in public finance issues would be advantageous.

*  Familiarity with financial, statistical and economic concepts.

*  Strong MS Office skills; principally Excel (including use of macros), Word and PowerPoint

*  Flexible. Accept new challenges and last minute requests.

*  Places interests of the team above individual self-interests.

*  Excellent organisational, communication and writing skills.
