AGRICULTURE LG Herndon Jr. Farms, Inc., Lyons GA, now hiring 42 temporary Farm workers to work in Toombs and Montgomery counties from 4/21/2012 to 7/31/2012. Hourly wage of $9.39 or piece rates ranging from $0.02 to check each 48 ear crate (group rate) to $14.06 per 1,000 lb. bin to clip tops and roots of onion plants, fill bucket and dump into bin, whichever is higher. Workers will pull and clip the roots and tops off of Vidalia sweet onions; plant, cultivate, harvest and field pack sweet corn; cultivate, harvest and pack sweet potato; and transplant, cultivate, harvest, wash and pack leafy green vegetables. Most job duties require workers to work in extremely hot or wet weather. Work requires repetitive bending, reaching, lifting and loading up to 60 lbs. Three quarters of an average of 54 hrs./wk guaranteed. Tools, supplies and equipment provided at no cost. Housing provided at no cost if outside commuting area. If applicable, transportation and subsistence expense to the job will be paid upon completion of 50% of the employment period, or earlier.
