Job Description SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER (PROGRAM MANAGEMENT): This is a senior level management position reporting to Practice Leader or Market Segment Leader. The person will be responsible for all aspects of managing an airport terminal program including planning (including environmental issues), design, engineering, and construction. The person must have strong ability to lead multi disciplinary team, understand and deliver stakeholder expectations, deal and manage client issues and expectations, understand airlines and operational needs, and ability to manage financial aspects and profitability of the project. Job Description: The individual will manage all aspects of the program starting from planning and ending with facility delivery and operation. The person must be familiar with planning and master plan validation for airport facility, understand and be able to manage sensitive environmental issues, understand and be able to manage design process, understand and be able to manage construction (including knowledge of phasing and scheduling to keep airport operational), and finally ability to manage facility start up/commissioning and final acceptance. He/she will have excellent communication skills, will be able to articulate the program vision, lead a group of planners and designers through the planning/design process, and be able to successfully complete facility construction. He/she will have adequate knowledge of current engineering and management technology, applicable code requirements, methods and procedures of construction, the level of details necessary for biding, and other relevant information as it relates to engineering design and construction. The individual must be able to lead a group of other project managers, accept their input in decision making, be able to see the big picture', establish and follow through with goals, quality control standards, and financial control of the project. The individual must be able to incorporate client's design or construction standard in the program or make necessary recommendation to the client regarding specific aspects of design and construction. The individual should be able to determine staffing needs, should be able to interview/select candidates, delegate responsibilities, and be able to stay within project budget and make projected profit for the company. Job Qualification: A B.S, from an accredited college or university in engineering or architecture is required and registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is desired. Fifteen years of experience with progressive responsibilities related to the project is required. Eight years of significant architectural or engineering decision-making and managerial responsibility related to airport terminal development is required. Experience must include accountability for project success, financial profitability, and staff development. Experience in project budgeting, planning, procurement and scheduling activities are required. Experience in phasing for construction in an operating facility (such as airport terminal or airfield using runways and taxiways) is also required. Additional Experience: - Evidence of progressive growth in responsibilities and a good record of achievements in the previous positions, - Effective communication skills both orally and in writing, - Ability to plan, organize, and supervise work in one or more functions or project areas concurrently, resulting in total management of a large project, - Evidence of initiatives, innovations, good judgment, ability to assume leadership, - Proficiency in applying advanced engineering techniques.
