Description: - Territory Manager - Cedar Rapids, IA (1200317) Job Description Territory Manager - Cedar Rapids, IA-1200317 Description Job Purpose: Generate sales within an assigned a territory or group of customer accounts. Accountable for achieving a quota by seeking out new customers and maintaining productive working relationships with existing customers. Scope: Under regular supervisory review, this individual contributor is accountable for managing a larger sized sales territory often consisting of multiple products or is responsible for complex products over a smaller territory. Employees in this position exercise independent discretion and judgment in managing the pricing of sales up to a preset %, with anything outside those parameters requiring management approval. Reporting Relationships: Reports to Sales Manager. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Promotes sales, introduces the organization's programs and provides account service to assigned and potential customers. Focuses on personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships and troubleshooting specific customer problems. Has direct sales responsibility for a cross section of medium to large customers. * Make sales calls to existing accounts and cold calls to new potential customers via onsite visits and phone calling * Support and implement marketing plans, promotions and new product launches. * Demonstrates products to new account customers. * Accountable for sales and operating profit by territory. * Secure long term relationship by negotiating straightforward agreements. * Focuses on profit improvement and gaining new opportunities. Improves the profitability of existing accounts by fully understanding the cost to serve and the value propositions for the accounts/customers. * Manage all aspects of client relationship. * Accountable for providing complete and accurate account set-up and pricing data. * Uses account management tools to ensure ongoing accuracy of customer information. * Understands the value of Praxair's products and application technology in developing pricing recommendations. Recognizes and expands opportunities at existing customers bringing solutions and value to customers. * Maintain list of target accounts. Generates and qualifies new business leads. * Conducts competitive intelligence. * Represent Praxair in a professional and dignified manner at all times * May provide support and pursue joint targets with other Sales personnel on specific products. * Provides guidance to less senior sales personnel on how to provide service consistent with business standards. Qualifications Bachelor Degree preferred, High School Diploma/GED required 5 to 7 yrs Outside Selling preferred Welding or industrial related product knowledge preferred Record of successful sales negotiations preferred Primary Location IA-Cedar Rapids Schedule Full-time Number of Openings 1 Business Praxair Distribution, Inc.
