The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for representing Savient products and policies to key physicians and healthcare professionals. Inclusive of this responsibility is establishing product sales and total territory account management. This role requires a medical or healthcare background combined with strong selling skills, good business acumen, and compliance to all legal, regulatory, and industry guidelines.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Develops a comprehensive and effective territory business plan aimed at achieving/exceeding annual sales goals established by Sales Management.
· Promotes Company products within approved labeling, in a comprehensive, fair and ethical manner that is consistent with industry specific and corporate legal and regulatory guidelines.
· Develops strong customer relationships by better understanding the customer’s needs and goals and communicates these to other company team members.
· Consistently meets or exceeds sales goals.
· Adheres to the Company’s compliance policies and guidelines as well as any other applicable guidelines, including, but not limited to, the PhRMA code.
· Communicates territory activity in an accurate and timely manner as directed by sales management. Provides communication to Sales Management, colleagues, Marketing, and other internal departments about changing environment and results.
· Successfully completes all company training classes, including, but not limited to, product knowledge, competitive analysis, market analysis and sales skills training.
· Submits accurate and timely expense reports, maintains account records and submits timely and thorough territory reports.
· Manages sales efforts within assigned promotional and operational budget.
· Effectively implements and completes assigned developmental projects.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

IV. Education/Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
· Degree in the life sciences or as a health care professional is a major plus
· 4-5 years previous biotechnology, specialty or pharmaceutical sales experience, including, but not limited to, selling to physicians and other health care professionals in office, clinic and hospital settings, and experience with obtaining approvals
· Experience in selling biologics and reimbursement issues
