Technical Territory Manager EMEA – Windows Management
We are now seeking a Technical Territory Manager for our Windows Management and migration solutions. The position involves supporting Quest’s EMEA Emerging Markets Distributors and Partners. The role will be based out of Maidenhead but will require extensive travel throughout EMEA.
Getting started:
You will quickly need to gain a clear understanding of the breadth of the Solutions offered by Quest Software and prioritise which ones you need to be familiar with first in order to begin adding value as early a possible. You need to also become familiar with the marketplace within which we operate and with key customers in your territory. Building relationships, you will quickly establish credibility a good working relationship with your peers, Territory Managers and Distributors.
Responsibilities:
· Provide technical expertise to support the sales process in sales meetings.
· Assist Territory Managers, Distributors, and their prospects with any technical issues.
· Deliver technical overviews and presentations (formal/informal).
· Deliver product demonstrations and proof of concepts for relevant Quest Solutions.
· To respond to RFI and RFP requests from prospects.
· Act as technical advisor to the Distributor sales force and the Territory Managers, listening to customer requirements and recommending appropriate technical solutions.
· Involvement in marketing events and trade shows run by Quest or other vendors.
· Preparing reports and plans (verbal/written) for Territory Managers, on the technical ability, progress and requirements of current and prospective Quest Distributors.
· Work closely with Territory Managers to develop Sales strategies for their regions, including sales campaigns, seminars, roundtables and customer visits.
· Act as the contact point and liaison between Distributors and departments within Quest to ensure technical matters are escalated and resolved efficiently.
Attributes:
You will have strong enterprise Active Directory and Exchange Server knowledge, including design deployment and troubleshooting, and proven ability to understand, configure, administer Windows infrastructure components (Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
You will also have strong experience of Directory and Messaging migration, preferably inter-forest and inter-organisation migrations as well as multi-vendor migrations. It is important to be familiar with Microsoft SQL Server, Systems Centre Operations Manager, Configuration Manager and SharePoint technologies.
Additionally, familiarity with all/most of the following would be an advantage:
· Directory services (Novell E Directory, LDAP)
· OS (Linux/Unix)
· Other messaging platforms (Lotus notes, Novell GroupWise)
Soft Skills Required:
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to manage own diary effectively
· The ability to understand business and technical problems addressed by the products including key regulations, business drivers and evolving business needs
· Commercial awareness
· Must be able to communicate technical and business information to widely varied audiences
· Good presentation/training skills
· The ability to keep their technical knowledge current.
Requirements:
· Educated to degree level, equivalent or relevant experience
· Industry qualifications (MCSE, CCNA, etc) are desirable
· Previous Quest product knowledge would be preferable.
· 3+ years experience in pre-sales or TAM environment
· Ability to manage frequent overseas travel
