Job Purpose:

To plan, verify and validate functional test requirements, in order to achieve high quality implementations producing detailed test cases, test procedures and executing planned tests against the system

Principal Responsibilities:

The TA Test Analyst will be responsible for the preparation and production of activities that will include but will not be restricted to:

Analyse requirements and define appropriate test cases to be executed, to ensure that the system functions according to business and functional requirements.
Produce estimates for work items.
Liaise with Development and Business Analysts to define expected system behaviour.
Ensure test plans meet Business Analysts expected level of coverage.
Identify test data and environmental requirements.
Proactively provide feedback on potential system issues.
Execute planned test cases, ensuring that all test results are correctly recorded.
Record any defects found during the testing process.
Review defects (including existing defects) and provide input into the business to facilitate effective prioritisation.
Provide regular updates to the Test Team Lead, including
o Communicating planning and execution reports
o Highlighting potential issues that occur during the testing phase that could impact the schedule
Contribute to Risk and Issues logs by highlighting any Product Risks / constraints that could impact the project.
Organise own day-to-day activities under the direction of the Test Team Lead.

This role is captured by BNY Mellon's Training and Competence (TC) scheme which requires you to attain competence in the role within 24 months and maintain competence thereafter. You must comply with the Company's policies and procedures in place to ensure compliance with such requirements.

Previous experience in a testing role
Ideally, experience in a relevant business or technical role (preferably Finance Industry experience)
Good knowledge of ALM and its applications

Qualifications
Educated to A level standard or equivalent experience.
ISEB/ISTQB Foundation level certified.
Skillset, Personal Qualities
Good communication skills both oral and written.
Good planning and organisation.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Good influencing skills.
Understand project lifecycles and associated test processes.
Understand, and be able to employ, both static and dynamic testing techniques as part of requirement analysis, covering both functional and non-functional requirements.
