Test Development Engineer for Wireless Networks with strong scripting / programming skills in languages such as Tcl/TK, Perl, Python, C++, Shell scripts etc to set up a test automation framework for testing a range of IP based wireless products and Network Management systems for 2G and 3G products.
Our client is a successful telecoms technology company developing solutions for mobile networks, enhancing 3G network coverage for specialist users. They are looking for a Test Development Engineer to test a range of IP based wireless products including BSC, RNC and Network Management Systems for 2G/3G technology. You will be part of a team implementing the automated test framework.
They are looking for an IT professional who can develop software (C++, Tcl/TK, Perl, Python or other scripting languages) for test automation and file trace analysis and who has knowledge of testing, testing methodology and techniques. Ideally you should have knowledge and / or experience of telecoms technology, in particular wireless networks, 2G / 3G mobile networks, however it is not essential.
In addition any experience of the following would be ideal: tools such as: TEMS, NEMO, MSC/SGSN simulators (Tektronix, NetHawk); be able to interpret ETSI/3GPP specifications; proficient in interpreting logs, protocol messages and use them to diagnose problems; working within an Agile /SCRUM environment; IP networking and TCP/IP; system administration level knowledge of Linux /Unix, MS Windows including the configuration of DNS and DHCP servers; SS7 protocols like SCCP, ISUP, MTP; knowledge of Wireshark and/or Nethawk East network simulator and TM500 Test Mobile and /or Trace Mobiles; knowledge/understanding of Ethernet (IP/TCP/UDP) protocols.
