The Adecco Recruitment Center of Excellence has an immediate opening for a test development scientist on a 6 month contract opportunity with a leading medical diagnostic facility in Valencia, CA. Job Purpose: To advance technology necessary to develop state-of-the-art clinical diagnostic testing. To plan, organize and implement basic experiments to achieve this goal. Train and provide technical direction to lab personnel of various levels (Senior Medical Technologist to Lab Associate) on a temporary basis depending on the needs of the project. Essential Job Responsibilities: -Research and investigate new technologies and testing systems for the Clinical Trials Laboratory. -Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to laboratory personnel. -Independently defines scope and critical elements of projects and selects steps to be taken. -Supervision and guidance required for overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. -Consults with Department Manager or specialized outside-authority concerning unusual problems and developments. -Generate, analyze and summarize data for test validation packages. -Prepare Standard Operations Procedures (SOP's) for new assays. -Prepare Quality Control and Preventive Maintenance manuals for new test systems. -Maintain production on new assays as needed prior to introduction into main laboratory departments. -Help with test production in main laboratory as needed. Qualifications: A Bachelor of Sciences degree in Medical Technology, chemical or biological sciences from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience in either clinical laboratory testing or scientific research and development. Demonstrated, by means of performance, advanced level of proficiency in laboratory testing with at least 4 years of experience. Advanced technical knowledge of clinical laboratory methods, instrumentation and procedures. Ability to think independently and resolve complex problems with limited supervision and guidance. Demonstrated proficiency in computer programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, statistical analysis, and laboratory information systems. Complete knowledge of and demonstrated experience and expertise in new test validation procedures and methods. Demonstrate high level of performance, precision and accuracy in clinical laboratory testing and reporting.
