We are looking for a well-rounded, organized electromechanical Test Engineer to support development of generators, motors, and power electronics. The individual will be involved test design and implementation in order to test electric machines as well as power converters. This is a direct hire opportunity with a client in Canton, Michigan. The client is a non-automotive company who specializes in developing integrated electromechanical systems for the alternative energy industry. The salary range is 70K to 90K based on experience and skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Create detailed test plans and procedures to test complex electromechanical equipment. Execute test plans and follow strict test procedures. Determine when testing will be outsourced and coordinate the outsourcing when applicable. Follow and communicate ISO 9000 procedures. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work both independently and with a team, coupled with problem solving abilities. Ability to face daily challenges of a sometimes high-pressure environment. Well organized and clean work habits. Excellent communication skills. Excellent, detailed record keeping skills. Experience with electromechanical test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. Familiarity with National Instruments or similar system design software is required. Familiarity with ISO, IEC, UL, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE and industry standards regarding test methodology, test equipment, and calibration requirements. Knowledge of data acquisition, data reduction, and sensitivity analysis. Experienced with supplier based testing services. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND JOB EXPERIENCE: Bachelor s degree in engineering. 5 - 10 years experience in similar industry.
