Test Manager – Asset / Investment Management recruitment
Job Purpose
The Test Manager will be required to oversee the line management of testing resources and ownership of test processes
Management oversight of the IT Test Environments booking, building and maintenance programme to support project testing and change initiative testing
Context for the Role
Manage testing workload by interfacing between project managers and test resources to produce and manage a current resource plan.
Police test processes.
In partnership with the project managers and the environments build team, develop and maintain a focus to ensure test environments are built and managed in a controlled and predictable manner.
Key Accountabilities Key Tasks/Activities
People Management Team of 4 permanent testers
Testing Environments Management
Monitoring the software release process offering advice to project managers with regards to potential quality risks and/or issues
Work with the project managers to understand their forward requirements
Liaise and coordinate the environment support resources for the running of system schedules (batch processing, data load, job scheduling, etc)
Oversee the update of the environments configuration control table
Assisting the environments build team to detect and resolve configuration breaks
Assisting the environments build team to resolve environment access level issues
Ownership and administration of Test Director
Relationship management between the client and 3rd parties, , during the software testing process
Relationship management between the client and 3rd party managed service providers during the software testing process
Test Management Production and maintenance of resource plan
Ownership and continuous improvement of test processes
Representation of Testing Services to the rest of IT, the business and 3rd parties
Resolution of disputes around testing process and practice

Key Capabilities (skills, knowledge and experience required to achieve outputs)
? A full understanding of the project life cycle
? A full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how the testing life cycle fits into the SDLC
? Ability to offer solutions options rather than a tendency to focus on a problem
? Relationship builder, working in partnership with other members of IT to ensure collective success
? Able to generate enthusiasm at both an individual level and at the wider team level
? Approachable able to work with people at all levels in the organisation
? Inquisitive, pro-active, with good logical, analytical, and diagnostic skills
? Expert in using Microsoft Office tools including Visio and MS Project
? Experienced in forward planning. Previous project management experience would be of benefit
? Experienced in testing software within Asset Management and/or investment banking, including knowledge of the Capstone application suite, Thhinkfolio,Eagle PACE, Tidal and decision support tools
