In the role of a Test Manager with Data Migration experience, you will play an integral role in helping our client deliver market leading services that set it apart from its competitors.
Additional Position Details:
This department is responsible for technology delivery, support and change related activity within GBM It is primarily responsible for delivering solutions to Finance across all products and is part of the Markets and International Banking (MIB) programme within the GBM Technology division.
The project is building the Transactional Sub Ledger as part of a 4-5 year programme delivering new strategic ledger architecture for MIB.
The Test Manager will ensure delivery against the project plan for the following stages of testing:
- Requirement, analysis and solution workshops;
- Unit Test scope and reviews with each development stream;
- System testing of each iteration for each component;
- End to End system integration testing (Front to Back);
- Scope and manage delivery of non functional performance testing by external team, and
- Engagement into UAT test cycles.
The Test Manager role will be responsible for the delivery of all test artefacts reporting into both the project and the Head of Testing.
The successful candidate will be a member of a global team, working closely with their counterparts in Technology Services India.
The Candidate should have a good understanding of Finance within an Investment Bank, with 'Single General Ledger' experience deemed exceptionally useful.
The Test Manager must have a proven delivery track record in a high pressure, large scale, complex, dynamic environment.
The role will require working within an agile delivery structure so clear understanding of TDD and Agile methodology's, techniques and processes in a must have on this project.
The component architecture is Java and Oracle based with complex data models and data migrations and so managing testing for such technologies is essential.
The TSL component is one part of the end to end architecture and the Test Manager will become accustomed and competent in all other moving parts of the ledger.
The role will manage a team of Testers that will be located both in London and in India in a split location model.

- Compliance to organisational testing standards, reviews, entry/exit criteria, reporting tooling
- Ensure that a process is in place to conduct test criteria reviews and that there is sign off of the testable requirements.
- Mentor and provide direction on best practice to junior test analysts
Required Qualifications , skills and knowledge
- ISEB/ISTQB certified (foundation/ practitioner level)
- Minimum 5 years Test Management Experience within large complex global programmes
- Managing global test resource
- Managing and delivering against each stage of Testing
Required Experience
- Background in Test Management of JAVA/ Oracle applications
- Finance / Investment Banking experience
- Investment Banking 'Ledger' experience preferred
- Experience in delivery of testing within Agile/TDD projects
- Managing both manual and automation test execution
- Managing data migration projects
- Competent in Java, Oracle, SQL, Sybase solutions and testing
- Managing global test resource
