Test Manager recruitment

Main Duties

• Define the test strategy and approach across the multiple deliveries to include regression testing for upstream providers

• Manage the test team through the full lifecycle including test plan definition, production of test scripts, bug tracking and closure

• Liaise with Business analysts and developers to understand requirements and ensure accurate coverage of testing scenarios

• Minimise unnecessary rework through effective quality assurance of testing deliverables

• Define Testing roles and responsibilities across the Programme

• Develop and continuously improve standard test process and strategic test tools

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

Manage and escalate risks and issues to the Release manager and development team

Person Requirements

Qualifications (essential):  Educated to degree level (2.1 minimum) or equivalent

Experience required (essential):

• A strong working knowledge of one or more test management tools (Quality Centre or equivalent).

• Experience of phased projects and the full development lifecycle.

• Prior experience in managing functional test delivery in one / multiple complex programmes / projects

Experience required (preferred):

• Experience of working with offshore teams

• Experience of creation and execution of automated tests

• Although the role focuses on functional testing, experience of non-functional testing would benefit the Programme

• Strong knowledge and experience of Software Test Life Cycle and various models – Waterfall, Agile, Iterative etc.

• Either project management in a small project(s), or workstream management in a large and complex project (or Programme)

Skills and knowledge (essential): Strong Testing / QA industry knowledge, proven management / leadership skills

Skills and knowledge (preferred):

• A strong working knowledge of financial/banking systems, knowledge of accounting, financial and product control functions.
