Test Technician

My Client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to join them as a Systems Test Technician to test there range of hydraulically powered Dynamic materials testing systems.

This job contains a wide range of activities including basic mechanical / hydraulic assembly, mechanical calibration, electrical and electronic faultfinding and PC hardware software installation.

As you gain more experience of simpler systems, you will have the opportunity to learn more complex, larger systems.

You must hold GCSEs passes or above in Maths and a Science, Technical or Engineering based subject.

Ideally, you will also hold a recognised electronics or mechanical qualification.
You will have spent a minimum of 2 years' working on electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies, including faultfinding to at least board level. Familiarity with hydraulics would be an advantage.

*Read electronic circuit and mechanical diagrams
*Use basic electronic diagnostic equipment (e.g. digital multimeter and oscilloscope) and carry out continuity tests
*PC literate - with some experience of installing PC software and hardware, an advantage
*Need basic mechanical assembly skills and hydraulic familiarity (e.g. DIY car mechanic level)
*For this role, you will also need an organised and disciplined approach to ensure quality and administrative procedures are adhered to

Salary: Up to £25k (subject to competence and inclusive of contractual overtime)
