Your workplace
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.

The section for hull strength and weight for commercial products is organised within area Structural Engineering at Saab Aeronautics. We work in a broad environment in which business ranges from developing the aircraft Saab 340/2000 as well as a diverse participation in international research and development projects. We see a growing demand that over time leads to participation in exciting projects where our strength expertise is in demand.

Your role
We are currently seeking a strength engineer who is interested in working with the development and strength issues for complete aircraft systems and the international environment with future research - development projects.

We work in teams with nearby engineering functions such as design and system engineers. Together we define the design solutions at a concept and detailed stage that are optimal in terms of technology, lead time and cost.
The role of strength engineer include elements such as concept and detailed design (static, fatigue and damage tolerance) of structural components.
Where applicable, it also includes the preparation and evaluation of strength tests of aircraft structures.

Your qualifications
We turn to candidates who have an engineering degree or a university degree. You may also be a recent graduate or have a few years experience. You are expected to be curious and have an interest to acquire knowledge regarding material, design and technology strength.
We value a communicative personality with the desire to work in a multi-project environment.
Resourcefulness and an analytical orientation are qualities that come in handy for this position.

We expect you to show an interest and aptitude for frequent external / internal contacts is assumed.
Liaison with other engineering functions, research institutes and partners require the ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and in English.
