Therapist Job in Topeka, Kansas US
CHILDREN'S THERAPIST (OSAGE CITY) position working with youth from pre-school to high school students in a school-based program. The position will provide individual, family and group therapy; conduct clinical intake assessments at the time of clients' intake to program; design and implement a comprehensive plan of care for clients; collaborate with agency staff and community service providers to coordinate referrals and delivery of services; and complete discharge procedures for clients who have terminated treatment services.
Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas is a community mental health center providing quality behavioral healthcare to a seven-county service area. This school-based position will work within the schools in Osage City (35 miles southwest of Topeka). Behavioral Health Therapist Requirements:
- Candidates must have a minimum of Master's Degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, or closely related field.

Must hold licensure with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. If candidate is eligible for licensure with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board, they must obtain license before the Center will offer a Therapist position.
- Licensure at the clinical level is preferred. (LSCSW or LP license is preference).

Possess the ability to work with children with serious emotional disturbance.

A minimum of one year work experience in the human services field is desirable, but not required.
- Travel is required. Therapist must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and a motor vehicle record with acceptable results.
