Tier 1 Analyst for Leading European Buyout Fund recruitment
The Client
This Private Equity fund is a top tier investment platform with a strong track record and a global investment history. The fund operates in the mid to large cap space and focuses across multiple sectors including Consumer, TMT, Financial Services and Industrials. The fund focuses on developing a strong return through taking majority stakes in companies to its investors through diligent injection of capital in to distressed and undervalued assets in the public and private markets.
The fund has awarded us a mandate to source an individual to join the London team where working as an Associate you will be involved in all aspects of the investment life cycle. The reason for the hire is that this team is seeking to enhance its reputation through a strong pipeline of potential transactions which the team is now seeing in this improved investment horizon within Europe.
The Role
This is a role where you will be expected as part of a smaller team to work right across the investment life cycle.
Deal Sourcing /Origination
Help to source deals through intelligent valuation and strategy, using equity and debt modelling techniques and putting together investment criteria for the investment committee using both micro and macro considerations
Deal Running/ Portfolio Management
Being involved in working closely with the current portfolio of clients and building relationships with both the in-house investment team and the Board Managers for each business. Involved in looking at strategic decision making and on operational changes to seek value from each business.
Exit Strategy
Being closely involved in the life cycle of the portfolio firm, focusing all the time on a 3-5 year exit strategy and looking at Secondaries buyout, public listing or spin off and possible MBO options for each business. Successfully working with the management board to finalise all aspects of the ownership closure.
Ideal Candidate:
- A Tier 1 2009 Investment Banking (MA or Leveraged Finance) or Management Consulting starter (3years of experience). UK transaction experience preferable given the focus of the fund out of London. (Please note that applications that are not Tier 1 will not be considered by our client)
- A clear and demonstrable success in your current role with top rankings to indicate this.
- You will also need to have a very strong education from your High School level demonstrating a high achiever (please add grades for each stage)
- Technical skill sets are highly desirable, LBO modelling and DCF and Comps modelling will be a major plus.
- A strategic mindset with an understanding of operational practices within a business are again fundamental to your application.
- A clear understanding of the Private Equity space and very strong motivations for a move to the buy side.
