The Storage team is responsible for all storage and backup hardware, software, and related technologies including: IBM DS8100, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, IBM SAN Volume Controller, EMC Clarion, EMC Centera, HP EVA, LeftHand iSCSI. The Lead Storage Engineer will act as the technical lead and provide technical training, coaching, and mentoring to others. Lead the daily activities of the team and provide support to establish priorities. Handle escalated issues. Provide technical evaluations and consulting support for projects. Assist the Manager of Technical Operations with assignments as required. Design, develop and implement various Enterprise level solutions. Analyze business requirements (functional and technical) by conducting information gathering sessions with customers, analyzing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs. Provide advanced technical support to the business for complex projects. Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolution of Sev 1 and Sev 2 problems. Responsible for constant monitoring of performance, availability, and maintainability of all enterprise storage related infrastructure hardware and related software applications and for performing and drawing conclusions from cost benefit analyses of systems to continuously improve results and identify opportunities for decreased total cost of ownership through design changes in underlying network architecture.  Identify opportunities to improve user experience and functionality through evaluation, collaboration and implementation of new applications and functionality and migrating to new solutions as appropriate. Also leads investigation of new technologies to ensure technology is appropriate and up-to-date to support on-going organizational requirements.  Support other security, development and production support efforts across the organization as needed.

Specifications:

1.     Either Bachelors degree in computer science or related field or demonstrated successful completion of 6 - 10 years of relevant industry training and certification or expertise in SAN and server backup administration is required.

2.     Five to ten years experience in storage system architecture, administration, automated installation, performance tuning, clustering, automated system recovery procedures, high availability system architecture

3.     Eight or more years of experience in installation and administration is required including responsibility for installation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple enterprise environments, implementation of large data center class storage solutions and project management and completion of implementation efforts from beginning to end.

4.     Demonstrated ability to successfully lead systems, teams, and security improvement projects.

5.     Experience with IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, and Linux preferred.   

6.     Demonstrated experience assessing and addressing storage management and availability risks through integration of multiple products, tools and techniques required.

7.     Ability to assess, develop and implement creative solutions to improve system availability to meet system uptime goals required.

8.     Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, planning skills, problem-solving skills, and change management skills. 

9.     Demonstrated ability to create accurate and understandable system documentation required to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences required.

10.   Must possess strong skills in personal diplomacy and customer service and consistently demonstrate a high level of motivation, commitment to teamwork, professionalism and trustworthiness.

11.   Must possess sound decision-making ability, operate well under pressure and be tenacious in resolving difficult problems.

12.   Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels of the organization including medical staff and senior management.  Must thrive in challenging technical and team based environment and be dedicated to success of the team and systems as a whole to improve the customer experience.

13.   Demonstrated ability to execute projects from start to finish including the development, measurement and reporting of key performance indicators and commitment to continuous quality improvement required.

14.   Demonstrated ability to achieve results and inspire others to do the same is essential.  Personal accountability for results is essential to success in this position as well as dedication to continue learning and investigation of relevant technology improvements is imperative.
