No Security Clearance Required about security clearance definitions Position Description Develops new tooling principles, processes, methods or concepts to solve complex manufacturing problems. Leads integration of leading edge technology to advance tool engineering processes and applications. Leads development and implementation of new or innovative approaches to tool designs and manufacturing applications. Decomposes program or project requirements into executable tooling work packages. Coordinates and resolves critical, complex or high visibility tooling issues with customers and suppliers. Consults and advises on proposal development to facilitate tool and equipment decision making. Performs, reviews, and approves highly complex analysis (e.g., stress, static and dynamic loading, thermal factors, etc.) Leads cross-functional root cause analysis and corrective action teams to develop, authorize and implement highly complex alternative methods and interim solutions for tools and equipment. Oversees investigations requiring significant integration to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. Mentors and trains others. Works under consultative direction. Technical + Computer Aided Design Tools Basic - Ability to manipulate complex computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to build and manipulate complex data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files). Preferred - Able to understand the depth and breadth of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to apply computer aided models to innovative applications. + Engineering Drawings Specs Basic - Extensive and specialized ability to read and understand basic and complex engineering drawings and specifications. Assists others in understanding detailed drawings and specs. Preferred - Advanced/expert ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Oversees and guides the efforts of others. + Manufacturing Methods Basic - Advanced knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems). Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies.
