Tooling Maintenance Technician

We currently have a career opportunity for a Tooling Technician at our Desoto facility in Dallas, TX.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Tooling Maintenance Technician is able to perform tooling maintenance tasks with direct supervision. Provide routine repair and maintenance of shop tooling to defined safety and technical standards and specifications. Provide load testing for required tooling to defined technical specification for certification of new tools and repair and re-certification of existing tools after repair.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspections of lifting tools
- Coordination of internal fabrication/repair activities
- Tooling load testing – certification of new tools and existing tools after repair
- Maintain supply of consumable tool repair items
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance program for specific tooling/gauges
- Assist production with creating Task Risk Assessments for use of new tools
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Min. 6 months – 1 year experience working with tooling
- Minimum high school education or a trade school certificate
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production and team goals
- Must be able to operate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to read engineering drawings is a plus
- Experience with lifting tool load testing is a plus
- Experience with or willingness to learn Pro-E
