Top global investment bank in New York is looking to expand its market risk team with a senior director level position covering all asset classes in the front office Jobs, UK

 A leading tier 1 investment bank has recently opened up an exclusive mandate for a director level position covering all asset classes for the front office market risk team. The role will report directly into the head of trading and the global head of market risk for the bank. The senior market risk manager will be directly responsible for how the risk of the firm is managed globally for the bank and play an active part in all risk strategies across all major trading regions of the firm.

This role carries a high level of responsibility and requires an individual who is used to managing a large team along with an understanding of how risk is managed across all asset classes with a focus on fixed income and FX.

• Carry out thorough analysis of the trading strategies of the business

• Pro-active risk management of the bank’s portfolio

• Monitoring and reporting adherence to the bank’s market risk limits, standing orders, escalating limit excesses appropriately to management.

• Focal point of contact for managing risk across all new products traded.

• Ensuring risk position data is accurately recorded in the Firm’s Value-at-Risk platform

• Developing, implementing and testing new risk reports and improve process efficiencies

The ideal candidate is likely to have the following background and skill set:

• Strong analytical quantitative skills with appropriate Mathematical background

• Clear oral and written communication in English

• Experienced risk manager in a top tier Market Risk group or trading team

• Experience of managing people, setting objectives and ensuring the team delivers quality product

• In depth knowledge across all classes
