Top performing leveraged finance/ Financial sponsors analyst for Leading Distressed/Special situations Hedge fund – UK recruitment

Within this role you will be working in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment in a global investment firm focused on distressed debt and special situations investment strategies.

Responsibilities will include:-

• Conducting detailed business, financial, capital structure, valuation and restructuring analysis to determine the risks and rewards of potential investments

• Developed an understanding of restructuring/workout dynamics

• Assisting in the evaluation of investment opportunities and execution of transactions across a variety of industries, including negotiating merger agreements, financing and structuring of transactions and designing management compensation plans.

• Workeing closely with portfolio management teams.

• Building detailed operating, LBO and restructuring models, conducted detailed due diligence and prepared recommendations for portfolio manager.

• Assisting in the evaluation of investment opportunities and execution of transactions across a variety of industries, including negotiating merger agreements, financing and structuring of transactions and designing management compensation plans.

In order to apply you must have:-

•1-3 years relevant experience in a Top Tier firm, within MA restructuring, Leverage Finance, or financial sponsors.  

•Understanding of the key distressed valuation methodologies

•An outstanding academic record

•Strong math, accounting and financial modelling skills with a high level of attention to detail.

•Detailed understanding of the risk/returns associated with a variety of debt and equity investments.

•Extensive computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint are required.

•Strong verbal and written skills are required.

The hiring manager is looking for an outperformer therefore excellent interpersonal plus technical skills are required.

Candidates with fluency in another European Language with be at a distinct advantage.
