TPM/Maintenance Manager Job in Bramalea L6T 1G4, Ontario Canada

I. Position Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of TPM within the site. Developing and supporting a site TPM plan and leading hourly teams to TPM awards. Responsible for leading the maintenance teams and working to ensure operational efficiency, minimum downtime, and effective use of preventative maintenance.

 

Il. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)

1. Coordinate all Autonomous Maintenance activities and Planned Maintenance activities.

2. Develop and lead training regarding the transfer of all TPM knowledge to the area employees (Hourly and Salaried). Providing the facility, resources and material for the development of activity boards and OPL’s (One Point Lessons)

3. Ensuring the integrity of the process for capturing improvement ideas (Kaizens) to ensure proper activity and recognition.

4. Facilitation of all Team related activities and development of hourly team leaders/presenters.

5. Champion of Planned Maintenance pillar

6. Managing all aspects of the maintenance team, including safety, budgetary, and leadership responsibilities;

7. Directing and managing maintenance activities ensuring all production and building related equipment is maintained and repaired with the highest degree of efficiency and safety.

8. Working to continuously improve the plant operating cost structure, through productivity and/or engineered improvements.

9. Participation in all aspects of employee relations including; Performance Management, Counseling/Corrective Measures, Positive Reinforcement, Union Relationship and Grievance Management.

10. Complying with Unilever Health Safety Framework and Specific Standards; including reporting serious health safety incidents according to Corporate and Regional requirements, establishing company/site annual health safety at work improvement objectives and targets, ensuring that the necessary health safety resource is available for the achievement of objectives, ensuring that the site is covered by crisis management plans, and ensuring that employees at all levels are made aware of their individual and collective health safety responsibilities.

The scope of this position is the Bramalea manufacturing facility. This represents roughly 250 employees, of which most are unionized. Direct leadership for approximately 30 tradesmen and 10 staff.

 

V. Skills Competencies

Knowledge

Education Bachelors Degree (preferably engineering), Advanced Degree Preferred. Completion of TPM Instructors Course is preferred.

 

Experience 10+ years of demonstrated success in a manufacturing capacity. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing large scale change activities and union relations. Experience in leading TPM and in a foods manufacturing facility are ideal.

 

Skills

1. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

2. Experience in most aspects of the Supply Chain (Make/Plan/Deliver/Source).

3. Knowledge of TPM is critical.

4. Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale change activities.

5. Proven Track record in People Development, particularly managing large teams.
