Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader as part of our Defence Logistics team in Wallangarra, Queensland, as a Trades Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the timely repair and maintenance of defence equipment in accordance with Defence and BAE Systems standards and procedures.
Primary responsibilities will see you:
- Assisting mechanics and fitters in their work
- Carrying out day to day activities within the workshop
- Carry out some confined space work (Training provided)
- Operating machinery and equipment
- Complying with company Safety Health and Environment (SHE) policy and procedures
As the ideal applicant, you will be a motivated self-starter and also possess:
- A current forklift and drivers licence
- A demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- A positive work ethic and attention to detail
- The ability to follow directions and prioritise work effectively
Previous experience as a Trades Assistant in a similar environment and a Confined Space certification is desirable
