Competencies

Professionalism: Demonstrated ability and sound experience of trading securities and currencies both in developed and emerging countries by interacting with brokers to achieve best trade execution.

Demonstrated strong quantitative skills to analyze the market impacts, handle basket trading consisting hundreds of securities, and conduct trading costs analysis by utilizing the financial software and tools.

Optimization and rebalancing skills to initiate trades to minimize the tracking error against relevant benchmarks.

Ability to utilize trade order management system and data processing tools such as Charles River, Bloomberg, DataStream, Reuters etc.

Take responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensure the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work., and familiarity with the use of internet applications and MS Office programs.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Business and Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics or related field is required. A first level university degree in combination with academic qualifications and experience in trading securities may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is desirable.

Work Experience

At least seven years of experience related to investment analysis and/or investment At least seven years of trading experience related to international securities markets are required. Experience with equity, fixed income and currency trading in asset management institutions or brokerage firms is required. Experience in trade initiations through portfolio optimization for the implementation of passive strategy is highly desirable. A solid knowledge of operations, clearing and trading operations, including experience with alternative liquidity sources (i.e. dark pools, crossing networks, algorithmic trading) and an understanding of various transaction cost analysis is required.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of another official language of the United Nations is desirable.
