Trade Finance – Account Officer recruitment
Tasks :
Business management role:
- Monitor, input and update clients’ positions on a daily basis
- Ensure execution of transactions are within approved parameters, report any inconsistencies to RM
- Follow-up on trade finance transactions in conformity with credit authorisation requirements;
- Monitor the maturities and timely renewals of credit limits and transaction documentation;
- Monitor transaction collateral and securities in coordination with Operations, Credit and the RM;
- Contribute to the Credit Line / transaction set up in collaboration with the Relationship Manager: assist in the preparation of credit requests and negotiations with the clients when necessary
- Contribute to the business development of the clients in general: liaising with clients, enquiring on new transaction possibilities
Execution / Administrative roles:
- Execution of deposits and advances;
- Input and follow up on the execution of payments, forex transactions, etc…
- Perform general account management and follow-up (ensure account conditions are met, ensure account documents are complete, and liaise with Compliance or other internal departments if necessary…)
- Act as a liaison for the RM, support functions and Back-office function.
- Respond to client miscellaneous requests (credit cards, payments, statements, etc.);
Credit monitoring role:
- Monitoring of bank exposure related to trade finance transactions which fall under the AO’s responsibility, in coordination with RMs, Credit and Treasury when necessary;
- Assist in maintaining the Bank limits management tools up to date, when required.
Profile:
- Min 4/5 years within a similar position ideally from a bank and/or from a Trading house managing client accounts (suppliers, buyers, traders) including the conclusion and follow-up of contracts, letters of credit and payments, dealing with banks
- Experience in trade finance structures such as L/C-based transactions (back to back, front to back…) and commodity financing (financing against copy documents, port financing, prepayments, pre-export structures…)
- Understanding and experience of different types of documents presented under Letters of Credit and other types of documentary operations, and a thorough experience in working with various types of documentary instruments (letters of credit, bank guarantees, collections). Knowledge of UCP / URDG practices a plus.
