Trade Finance IT Product Manager – SVP / Director recruitment
Product managers at the bank act as the highest point of contact for an application or suite of applications – taking ownership at the go-live stage and ensuring the overall smooth running, efficiency and availability of the application.
While the IT Product Manager needs a strong understanding of technology and an ability to see potential applications for problem solving, these skills must be coupled with a strong business focus and good domain knowledge in either Trade Finance or Cash Management. IT Product Managers must act as the “CEO” of the product, concerned deeply about the solution it provides while also being responsible for justifying its existence and operating it with fiscal responsibility. In practice, this requires an ability to work with other areas including but not limited to: Finance, Sales, Marketing and Executive Management.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the lifecycle management of a product/application from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- Ensures that the application(s) are enhanced and maintained in accordance to the requirements of the business.
- Conduct strategic planning for the product/application.
- Manage product scope.
- Identify and manage technical projects necessary to ensure the required service levels are maintained.
- Manage strategic capacity, consumption and performance management (Forecast and management based on business plans).
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going engagement with customers and non-customers.
- Establish strong business cases for creation of any new product or product enhancement along with market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
- Manage a complex matrix of staff – between 30 to 80 technical staff with around 10 direct reports.
Experience
- Experience in Engineering, User Experience Design, Development and Application Support would be a high advantage for this role.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others by persuasion rather than authority
- Strong Project Management Skills
- Strong People Management Skills
- Strong Relationship Management Skills.
Experience working with other areas of the company such as Finance, Sales, Marketing and Executive Management - Experienced at prioritizing and looking at the big picture (key problem to be solved), without becoming caught up in details

- Proven Project Management and People management capability
