Trade Finance Relationship Manager, UAE recruitment

My client, a market leading Middle Eastern Investment bank, are looking to make the hire of a senior trade finance relationship manager to join their Financial Institutions Group in Dubai.  Candidates may come from broader corporate banking/FI backgrounds, but must have a specific trade finance focus.

The role:

• Origination and on-going relationship management of existing portfolio of Financial Institutions clients in the UAE and wider GCC region.

• You must build an active portfolio of trade assets – responsibility for selling and buying trade products with a focus in particular on the Middle East, Pakistan, India, North Africa and Sri Lanka.

• Responsibility for managing the risk of the bank and handling sell-downs.  Will monitor loan maturities and overdrawn accounts, so these are kept to a minimum.  Should be familiar with undergoing credit submissions and completing all required documentation in relation to credit approvals, though you will also have a more junior team in place to conduct much of the credit analysis/ground work and documentation aspects.

• On a broader level, will also be required to cross-sell the bank’s other products (corporate banking/ traditional vanilla slow products suite) to clients and increase the revenues of the wider Financial Institutions Group.

Requirements:

• This is for a senior relationship management position – candidates are expected to have extensive trade finance experience dealing with Financial Institutions in the MENA region.

• The ideal candidate will come from a local Middle Eastern investment bank as this is likely to provide the most suitable match in terms of risk appetite and existing relationships/contacts you will already have in the market.
