Trade Operations

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be part of an expanding global team responsible for trade processing and confirmations across all accounts and asset types (equity, fixed income and derivatives)
The team and individual role objective is to ensure all trade activity is captured, validated and instructions released to custodians / counterparties within designated deadlines.
Complete these activities in accordance with the firm's best practices and through the application of internal controls, operational processes and procedures as notified.
Ensure that your Team Leader/Manager is notified of all material service issues/risk items on a timely basis and work to resolve these as a matter of priority.
Maintain an effective working relationship with fellow team members, other departments, custodian banks and third party service providers.
Ensuring all global equity trades for assigned portfolio’s are confirmed with counterparties (via CTM) and trade instructions are sent to custodians for settlement
Ensuring all FX trades for assigned portfolio’s are confirmed with counterparties within Aladdin, exceptions are investigated and all trades are sent to custodians for settlement
Ensure all global fixed interest trades for assigned portfolio’s are confirmed with counterparties (via CTM or other methods) and trade instructions are sent to custodians for settlement
Ensure all global futures and options trades are confirmed with executing brokers and trade instructions sent to fund accountant
Responsible for ensuring all trades hit Aladdin dashboard from downstream systems and resolve or escalate any issues
Ensure any trades that are not confirmed and sent to the fund accountant for inclusion in the unit price are escalated to the relevant parties (Australia portfolio specific)
Responsible for advising relevant teams of new security setups and ensuring mapping is completed Manage any queries received from various internal and external parties.
Interact with other teams and the third parties/custodians as appropriate.
Escalate all material risk items (such as large fails) and service issues to your Team Leader on a timely basis.
Maintain and update operational procedures and ensure appropriate compliance.
Identify any key risk areas or opportunities for process improvements with the local and offshore model
Where appropriate cross-train or share your knowledge with local and offshore colleagues
Establish and maintain professional and effective internal and external relationships with all clients/counterparties.

 

Requirements:

Ensure that you are fully trained in the functions you are required to perform, identifying for your Team Leader any outstanding training requirements maintaining on an ongoing basis your competence for the responsibilities assigned to you.
Achieve threshold competence in trade operations core competencies within period agreed with your manager.
Maintain competence for role through ongoing participation in the firm's training initiatives.
Achieve and maintain understanding of all financial instruments utilised within your portfolio group.
Participate in the firm's annual review process and draft goals/objectives for your development in conjunction with your Team Leader and Manager.
Maintain full knowledge of the firm's corporate policies, procedures and guidelines
