Tradeshow and Major Events Manager

Responsible for management of events for specified sectors, and key customer facing events, internal corporate events and initiatives, seminar workshop programs and internal Product launch events for the Americas (including US, Canada and Latin America regions) as assigned. Management of key events includes ensuring from start to finish the events are delivered and presented of the highest quality in brand, messaging, product and services in the most cost efficient manner.

Working closely with Regional Marketing Communications, Corporate, Sales and Product Management teams, this role is responsible for delivering SD's presence by managing meeting venues, leveraging assets, securing demonstration equipment, and working as a primary interface with exhibit vendors, sponsorship organizations and logistical service suppliers.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Key interface for development of booth concepts, graphics, configurations and meeting layout, ensuring cross-over initiatives where possible
  • Reservations for space and ensures best available locations (i.e. not near competitors)
  • Facilitation of equipment showcases, ensuring the availability, timely delivery and return of products. Ensuring quality of products for display is always the highest standard.
  • Manage event services and ensures advanced rates (A/V, electrical, carpet, lighting, shipping to/from show, labor, etc…)
  • Conduct pre-planning meetings to develop timeline, product lists, attendee lists, and all logistical needs.
  • Liaison with Creative Services to produce artwork for meetings, special events, tradeshows.
  • Effective management of event budgets for specified sectors, and oversees internal/corporate/major event budgets when appropriate.
  • Support for corporate events and internal communications initiatives as required, notably co-ordination of strategy and product road show presentations at sites
  • Provide support to product launch or media events as assigned.
  • Contributes to the budgeting/forecasting and monthly reconciliation of assigned event expenses.
  • Primary interface with venue and vendors to support events/meetings
  • Work across teams to identify and negotiate synergies and opportunities for cost savings initiatives with vendors
  • Lead efforts to streamline reporting and communication of event calendars and expenses.
  • Maintain/Update trade show schedule on corporate website
  • Support to marketing department/organization handling initiatives outside of "trade shows" when requested
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
  • Other duties as required.Qualifications:
  • Education/Training: HS Diploma or higher
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in conference/tradeshow/seminar planning

    Knowledge/Skills:

  • Microsoft office and Outlook, trade show material production knowledge
  • Extremely organized
  • Ability to multitask
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Work independently
  • Good phone and internet skills
  • Able to pay close attention to detail

  • Individual may be required to sit, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-20 pounds
  • Travel required, 5% - 10% of the time
