Trading Analyst recruitment

Russell Implementation Services (RIS) provides a range of 'direct investment' services to help clients improve the performance and implementation of their investment strategies; including asset management, exposure management and execution management.

This individual will be an integral member of the Portfolio Trading Services team within RIS providing support for the group's multiple global service lines. In this role the associate will interact regularly with portfolio managers and traders within Russell, as well as external parties, ensuring the accuracy of portfolio data and coordinating certain pre and post-trade activities associated with the asset classes traded on the desk.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Daily interaction with and use of the firm's proprietary systems and databases as well as external systems including Advent, Bloomberg and Charles River.

Corporate action processing and securities pricing.

Reconciliation of portfolio and trade data from internal systems to counterparty, custodian and vendor systems and reports. Resolve discrepancies and troubleshoot potential issues.

Regulatory reporting; OATS, TRACE MSRB.

Daily communications with both internal and external parties to ensure timely settlement of trading activity and accurate portfolio data. Prompt resolution of issues when they are identified.

Evaluate and improve existing operational processes and procedures to reduce risk and increase efficiency.

Create workflows and procedures for the team to effectively process the trading strategies and activities associated with the implementation and support of new business initiatives.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related area and one to three years experience in investment management or trading operations.

Candidates must be analytical, detail-oriented and precise with numbers, with a solid understanding of the securities/fund industry as well as investment concepts and strategies.

Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Excel and comfort with database applications. Knowledge of SQL code a plus but not required.

Willingness and flexibility to work non-standard schedules associated with providing trading support across global markets.

Ability to identify potential issues and promote efficient resolution. Set and pursue goals and demonstrate a commitment to organizational success.

Individual contributor and strong team player in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments under short deadlines.

Familiarity with custodian, broker and money manager operations.
