What you’ll do
As a Trading Application Engineer you will be responsible for the availability and performance of key Trading applications and systems. This role involves technical trouble shooting, managing application performance and liaising with the end-user regarding requests.
With your distinct IT skills and strong affinity for financial markets, you’re able to run a complex and dynamic Trading environment. You will be working with highly skilled and engaged colleagues such as Developers, System Engineers, Researchers and Traders. On top of that you will constantly search for the best solutions to improve our business performance. You know what it is to take responsibility and you are aware that your actions have a direct impact on our PL.
In short, as a Trading Application Engineer you will:
- Make sure that our complex Trading systems are up and running and solve any issues to guarantee Traders can use their systems at the opening of the market. Not missing the opening is crucial for business performance;
- Control deployment of new Trading functionalities in existing Trading- and Exchange systems;
- Set up complete new Trading- and Exchange systems at new locations;
- Examine the Trading flow to the Exchange and optimise new Trading strategies by analysing large sets of data;
- Spend time on the Trading floor with traders to understand the business in order to contribute to our performance.
What you’ll need
- An interest in Trading/Finance;
- Have experience in Unix (and preferably with Windows and/or databases);
- Scripting skills like Bash, SQL, Perl, Python, VB script and PowerShell are appreciated;
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills;
- General knowledge about networking;
- A hands-on mentality;
- A HBO/WO Bachelor or Master degree level.
