Trading Application Support Engineer recruitment
We are seeking an Application Support Specialist to join our Application Support Team. Reporting to the Application Support Manager, the Support Specialist is responsible for monitoring and handling all OptionsHouse proprietary technology support issues. The specialist will work very closely with the development team and business units on the operations and support of the OptionsHouse trading platform.
Core Responsibilities:
• Perform active monitoring and respond to alerts within a production environment; escalate issues to appropriate IT staff as necessary.
• Support the proprietary functionality of the Optionshouse Trading Platform and interact with Business and Technology customers to resolve various software/server related issues
• Develop and maintain system documentation
• Provide off-hours and remote support when necessary
• Manage incidents including incident resolution process and client communications.
Desired Candidate Attributes:
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Support or Development role
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Experience with supporting or developing Java applications
• Working knowledge of UNIX systems and Windows
• Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership
• Trading environment experience a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical, and troubleshooting skills
• Superb communication skills and the ability to interact with users at all levels of the organization
• Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous issues
Technical knowledge and Experience and Educational Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
• Experience in Postgres or SQL databases
• Scripting experience in UNIX shells, Perl, or Ruby to support environment dashboards, builds and reporting tools
• Previous technology support experience is a must
